Exterior timber cladding

09 Exterior timber cladding

Timber as part
of the building.

Cladding changes the outside of a building without touching the structure. It works on a house and just as well on a school or an office block.

The boards are mounted on a treated frame with an air gap behind, so water can run off and the timber can dry. That is what decides whether cladding lasts ten years or two.

HOW WE MAKE IT
